Comedy is Tragedy Plus Trump

By Bill Maher

Bloomberg News recently asked President Trump about Republican chances in the midterms:

"The advantage we have is – I am actually a very popular president, which people don't like to say, you know. In fact, I guess the Republican poll came out, there's one at 92 and one at 93 and one at 90, and they're the highest numbers that have ever been, with the exception of a tiny period of time with a bullhorn. But that period lasted for about a week."

I guess we all have our own memories of 9/11. Trump remembers it as the time when someone else was on TV. George Bush had high ratings – history’s sole measure of greatness – but they didn’t last. Loser. Sad.

The Independent collected a bunch of Trump’s other thoughts on the deaths of 3,000 of his countrymen:

“[Trump property] 40 Wall Street actually was the second-tallest building in downtown Manhattan… And now it’s the tallest.”(9/11/01)

So the news wasn’t all bad.

“I would like to extend my best wishes to all, even the haters and losers, on this special date, September 11th.” (9/11/13)

Eat shit, “malice towards none.”

“I lost hundreds of friends in 9/11.” (February, 2016)

Name one.

“Those people that knocked down the World Trade Centre most likely under the Trump policy wouldn’t have been here to knock down the World Trade Centre, just so you understand.” (August, 2016)

Fifteen of the hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, a country, The Independent notes, not included in Trump’s travel ban.

I wish Donald Trump wasn’t the president.
