This Week in the Bubble

By Bill Maher

Recently on This Week, Ohio Senator Rob Portman said, "unemployment is higher today than when the president took office. Unfortunately, in the meantime, we've created net zero jobs."

That's just a lie. And Portman is the guy who played Obama in Romney's practice debate sessions, so he should know it's a lie, but I guess that's how deeply entrenched in the bubble this claim is.

Obama was saddled with millions of job losses in his first year, and Republicans have been doing everything they can to cut public employment to try to make his jobs record look worse, but he's more than compensated for those losses, and has netted hundreds of thousands of jobs. Where's the bar for him? Does he have to eliminate all the job loss from Bush's term, too, in just one term? If you think so, you're being an awfully hard grader.
