Innocents at Home

By Bill Maher

Summer vacations are under way and a new survey of over 2000 Americans found something interesting about our travel plans: We're never leaving.

Fifty-four percent of us have never traveled outside the country. Thirty-five percent of us don't even hold a passport. The survey asked the people who'd never left the country why, and five percent said they think the rest of the world is "unsafe." But 41 percent said everything worth visiting was (as Chuck Berry would say) right here in the USA.

Would the rest of the planet like us more, or less, if they ever met Americans who weren't in Seal Team Six?
