Climate Strange
/By Bill Maher
Maybe you’ve heard, but California is a little short on water. As in, we’re already having wildfires. In January. Thankfully, help is on the way:
Of course, there’s no such thing as making it rain, unless you’re talking about strip clubs. What’s worse, climatologists at Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena say that the historically wet months of February, March and April are looking, well, not so wet. This is all likely to get worse. We’ll see who ends up being right – the climatologists or the faithful praying for rain.
I wonder if any of the people on the right who used the polar vortex to suggest that there is no global warming will use the fact that California is in a historic drought, and that our fire season is now year-round, to imagine that there is? And I’m not even suggesting that California’s drought is proof of global warming. I’m suggesting that they’re both data points you can cherry pick, so why not cherry pick them both? If we’re going to be idiots, shouldn’t we be fair idiots?
